Macro Hive is celebrating its second anniversary! And sticking to our philosophy of being analytical in all things, whether helping investors navigate markets or running the Hive, here are some key statistics from our past year:
1,075,337 page views at macrohive.com. Most visitors were from North America, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore and India, but I want to give a big shout-out to our visitors from Benin, Eritrea and Vanuatu – you have improved my geography.
402 articles published across our products (Prime and Professional). Members love our content! Feedback includes ‘a hidden gem for investors’, ‘outstanding quantitative macro analysis’, and ‘the epitome of having their ear to the ground for anything macro related in the world of finance’. Our three most-read pieces were ‘Which US Sectors Are Most Excited by a Vaccine’, ‘2021 Grey Swan: Unexpected UK Outperformance’ and ‘The Dollar Has Peaked’.
155,246 podcast downloads. The podcast interviews are one of the most fun parts of my job. I get to speak to former central bank governors like Lord Mervyn King or Raghu Rajan, chancellors like Sajid Javid and top investors like Jim Leitner. The three podcasts you listened to most were with guests James Aitkens, Benn Eifert and Jim Leitner.
10,022 workers at Macro Hive. Admittedly, 10,000 of them are bees thanks to the lockdown leading me to get a beehive. But we do have 22 fantastic people working for us spread across the world from San Diego in California to Berlin in Germany. We hired most over Zoom, and so I have never physically met many of our team. But whether on the research or the business and tech side, they are all exceptional. We all share the same goal of doing our best for you, our members.
508 members on our Hive Minds Slack chat room. We set up a Slack room for our members during lockdown, and it has steadily grown into a vibrant investor community. We exchange ideas, share insights, and get support when markets go against us. As you can tell, it is a much healthier environment than Twitter.
We hope these stats give you a flavour of our achievements over the past year. It has been a truly collective effort during a surreal time of lockdowns. So a big thanks to all Hivers – we look forward to growing with you and expanding the Hive next year. And if you are not a member, you can become one by signing up here.
