6 TV Shows to Watch

Bilal Hafeez

The Succession Season 4 trailer just dropped and it reminded me how good that show is. The first episode comes out on March 27, but if you’re looking for something else to watch in the meantime, here are six shows I’d recommend:

The Rig (Amazon) – workers on an oil rig get stranded as strange fog descends. Great premise with an interesting twist. A solid piece of entertainment.

Couples Therapy (Netflix). Just started this. If you’re in a relationship, the show will make you laugh, wince and cringe. The show films real couples in therapy!

The English (BBC/Amazon) – an original take on the American western. The Emily Blunt character meets a Native American who is working for the US army and together they try to find their home/loved ones. A slow burn and I haven’t completed yet, but worth sticking with.

Tokyo Vice (HBO/Now TV) – I love Tokyo and this show captures the city well. It follows an American journalist working for a Japanese newspaper trying to uncover the Yakuza world.

Chernobyl (HBO/ Now TV) – for some reason, I missed this show when it came out in 2019, but boy is it good. The show has the probably the best production design I’ve seen. It feels like they filmed it in 1980s Soviet Union. The story is well told and its scary in its own way.

My Hero Academia (Netflix) – I had to include one anime. I recently completed this. It’s fun show following a non-powered kid in a world of powered people who joins a superhero academy. Light and fun.
